Woah, too close!



Other than the "shaky cam" technique in shows like documentaries which I really detest, another hip and trendy feature is the extreme close up.  Omg, I do not want to see this guy's hair pores and dermititis!  And this shot was held for a few seconds too, not just a few frames.  

Let's count hair follicles!
Okay, I think I understand, we're supposed to feel like we're right next to this guy, snuggling alongside him, as he pours over ancient maps and evidence (in this case, German occupation of Gurnsey during World War II).  But really, I don't need to be so close to him.  Pull the shot out, I don't need to see hairs coming out of moles to appreciate the documentary.  I mean really!
